However, the treatment of sewage is not only cleaning the water for drinking but to clean the nasty waste from it so that it can be sent back into the environment for reuse it again. Sewage treatment usually cleans the sewage not the water in it. Sewage is the result of the waste that is discharged from businesses, homes and industrial buildings. The sewage is usually filled with poisonous substances which are hazardous to human beings and the environment. Water treatment methods make the sewage clean enough to be recycled into the environment again. The treatment of sewage generally consists of three steps. These are classified as primary, secondary and tertiary treatments. In primary stage, the solid waste is separated from the water stream with the help of mechanical means to include the use of influx and pre precipitation. The waste borne bacteria then changes the dissolved substances into a solid waste product. The secondary stage provides oxygen, post precipitation and effluent to the water. The tertiary stage neutralizes the solids. The solids are ready to be sent to the environment and wont cause any kind of problem.
